Meet our amazing board of volunteers.

Each board member was asked, “What motivates you to volunteer with the KLD Alzheimer’s Foundation?”

Tyler Dubea

President & Chairman

This started as a way to fight for my mom - a way to do a little bit more to speed up research and provide the best possible care for people like my mom. This has turned into my passion project. After talking with other people in the community and across the country, and hearing their stories, it’s clear that this disease is absolutely brutal. We have to stop it, and we have to be successful sooner, rather than later.

Heather Patterson

Secretary

My husband and I have a history of Alzheimer’s and dementia on both sides of our family and watching someone you love slip away is devastating. I want to end this disease so that one day our own kids won’t have the experiences we have watched our parents go through.

Gerard Benner

Treasurer

I am committed to the mission of helping raise funds for the ongoing care for people experiencing Alzheimer’s related life challenges, as well as their caregivers. In addition, I recognize the practical need to support the ongoing research for a cure.

I do this for my wife Karen Lee Dubea, otherwise known as KLD. She was diagnosed with this horrible disease on Thursday, November 10, 2011. Since that time I have been motivated to do as much as possible for her and others with this disease.

I was drawn into the KLD Alzheimer’s Foundation because of my brother Tyler, the founder. I was impressed with how passionate he is about fighting this disease. I too, have lost a loved one to Alzheimer’s, and I have a great desire to help eradicate this terrible life changing disease. I’m hopeful that I can make a difference by raising as much money as possible for this great cause.
